Book a date with Coaldrakes

Although reading can be a fantastic solitary pleasure, when it comes to dissecting the plot, characters and themes, sometimes it’s just not as much fun doing it solo.

For people seeking a more social approach, Coaldrake’s Bookshop at The Barracks provides the perfect forum for likeminded bookworms, at The Edmund Burke Bookclub.

Edmund Burke was an Irish philosopher renowned for his literature on politics, strong convictions and conservatism.

Inspired by Burke’s dictum that “fiction lags after truth”, the bookclub discusses a variety of non-fiction reads on the first Wednesday of every month from 6:30pm.

Coaldrake’s is the perfect setting to unwind and engage in intelligent conversation, with exceptional coffee from the Espresso Bar serving as the perfect partner to a good read and stimulating company.

Covering a variety of topics, from politics to travel, all are welcome to participate in this informal and intimate group, either regularly or occasionally to suit their personal taste and timetables.
